December 2021
This Christmas season, I encourage you to reflect on the reasons that Christ left heaven and came to earth. The only light that can pierce this present darkness is the HOPE that we have in Christ – a message that is still desperately needed today. I hope you’ll watch this video message from me and prayerfully consider the doors that God is opening to our ministry. Most of all, I hope you will join us in taking bold steps in helping more Christians live like Christians in 2022 and beyond.
During the month of December, every gift is matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact. Even more importantly, you’re joining us in taking radical steps of faith to reach, disciple, and equip more believers in 2022 and beyond.
Two Truths from God’s Word this Christmas Season
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, it’s sobering to consider our many brothers and sisters—both here in the U.S. and across the globe—who are anything but joyful this December. Many are struggling as they face difficult physical, emotional, financial, and relational challenges. Countless people feel overwhelmed by a sense of darkness. How desperately our world needs the hope that only a Savior can bring!

LUKE 2:10-11 NASB
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, it’s sobering to consider our many brothers and sisters—both here in the U.S. and across the globe who are anything but joyful this December.
So many are struggling as they face difficult physical, emotional, financial, and relational challenges. Countless people feel overwhelmed by a sense of darkness. How desperately our world needs the hope that only a Savior can bring!
The Christmas season presents tangible opportunities to express God’s love to those around us. I’d like to encourage you with two truths from God’s Word to consider and share during this Christmas season:
1. Jesus left heaven to give us a HOPE that won’t disappoint. (Colossians 1:3-8)
Amid the pain, we have an opportunity to be a voice of hope, piercing the darkness with confidence that our future is secure in Jesus.
This hope—the Good News of a Savior who came to our world, suffered and died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is preparing a place in heaven for us—is our anchor through the storms of life.
2. Jesus left heaven to RESCUE us from the power of darkness. (Colossians 1:13-14)
When Jesus arrived in our world and literally defeated death, He rescued us from the enemy’s power. Think about the far-reaching, life giving nature of that statement!
Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Joyously giving thanks to the Father, the apostle Paul reminded the Colossian church that Jesus has:
• Qualified us to share in the inheritance of saints in the kingdom of Light.
• Rescued us from the dominion of darkness.
• Brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.
This Christmas season, I hope you will reflect on the reasons that Christ left heaven and came to earth. As you do, will you rejoice with me and thank Him for the incredible HOPE that we enjoy? What a momentous season to express our gratitude for the victory He has given us over darkness!
As we enter this time of year, we see God on the move like never before. We are passionately committed to helping Christians live like Christians. And with your help, we will walk through the incredible doors God has opened in 2021.
Remember that it’s during the darkest times that God’s light shines the brightest!
People are longing for peace that can only come from the Spirit of God. COVID-19, fear, anxiety, economic uncertainty, division, and racial and political tensions have caused millions to return to their spiritual roots or seek God for the first time.
It is in this unique environment of spiritual hunger that God has exponentially multiplied the teaching ministry of Living on the Edge, launched a movement of one-to-one mentoring that is transforming lives, and opened doors to help pastors in crisis all over the globe.
I would ask you to please STOP and read the enclosed ministry vision report. In it, we are excited to share where God is leading our ministry in 2022 and beyond. You’ll see how He is calling us to seize this divine moment of opportunity by doubling our impact in the next 24 months. These radical steps of faith would not be possible were it not for what we’ve
accomplished with your help in 2021.
Thanks to a small group of generous and committed ministry partners, every gift given in the month of December will be matched dollar for dollar through the end of the year.
This is our largest Year-End Match ever, spearheaded by gifts from our Board of Directors, who believe we are living in a “kairos moment” of history. In English, kairos means a rare opportunity that demands taking bold steps of faith.
Will you help us meet our Year-End Match by making a gift by December 31?
Finally, I cannot thank you enough for your partnership, your prayers, and your financial support that have enabled us to fulfill God’s calling to help Christians live like Christians.
My prayer this Christmas season is that the presence of God brings you HOPE and PEACE that surpasses all understanding and that together we can be agents of light and love in this very broken world.
I am so grateful for you!

Believers across the globe are in crisis. In the midst of unraveling culture, radical shifts in morality, and the decline of biblical institutions, how we respond will forever change lives. In all of this, here’s what I want you to know: Living on the Edge is taking steps of faith like we’ve never taken before! We are committed to doubling three essential areas of ministry over the next two years. Why? Because we believe God is calling us to be a voice of HOPE to the world.
Living on the Edge helps Christians bring their faith to life by living before God, in community and on mission.
